To shape, gently smooth and round-off ragged edges, file from the outside of the nail toward the center. File in one direction — don’t saw back and forth, as it may cause splitting and provides less control.

After nail is shaped, use finishing block to smooth, buff and shine top surface of nail. Use grey side to smooth, light green to buff, and white to shine. Apply gentle back and forth buffing motion. To avoid drying out the nail, do not smooth and buff more than every two weeks. Use shine surface as often as desired.
