The Phunky Phoenix -
"From the ashes of
the phoenix comes new life". Add some "phunk" to the "phoenix"
and you've got a recipe for one-of-a-kind jewelry designs. Using
salvaged/recycled, antique, vintage, new and found objects
as jewelry components (some dating back to the early 1900's)
Julie Pici, owner of The Phunky Phoenix, creates an eclectic mix
of vintage and modern styles for the customer who is looking
for unique accessories. Founded on the basis to raise money for
the Pici's adoption fund, sales from The Phunky Phoenix will
continue to invest in their dream of a future family."
The locket on the circle chain (the chain is gold filled) is a
1940's 10KGF Armed Forces locket with mother-of-pearl/10KGF armed
forces emblem on the front. The other locket (on the beaded pink
braided chain) is from the 20's and includes a note "...gave this to
Mary 1924" and the picture of a "dapper" gentleman and his 1920's
car, but the new owner can place their own photos inside. The front
has paste rhinestones and is most likely gold filled as well but
there are no markings (maybe behind the picture). I also have a
bakelite "album" charm/locket on a gold filled chain.
The earrings are made from vintage glass drops (some faceted, some
cabochons - but all are from the 40's-50's) and newer components.
