BALL GARY, 48, of Lewisville. Born July 17, 1953 died August 17, 2001. Former Sargeant for Battery D, 2nd Battalion 14th Marines 4th Marine Division US Marine Corps Reserves. During his stay in 6the Marine Corps he received two Meritorious Mast. He is survived by his wife Paula Hart, parents Dorsie & Ann Ball, all of Lewisville, children Angela Green, Joey Ball both of DeSoto, Jeffrey Easler, Flower Mound; grandchildren Morgan & Maci Green; sisters Trina Newsom, Lewisville, Patty Tow, Lancaster; stepchildren Buddy Hart, David Lee Hart & Vickie Hart. Viewing will be at Dalton & Son Funeral Home in Lewisville, Monday August 20, from 5-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday 11 AM at Dalton & Son with burial at Mount Tabor Cemetery in Sanduskie, TX.

(written by Tim Deen) After Carter, Steve received his B.S. from UT Austin, Medical Degree from UTSWMB at Galveston, Residency in Emergency Medicine at Tulane U. in New Orleans. He set up his ER practice in Houston. At that time he was 33 years old. Shortly after that time he became ill and passed away in 1989 at the age of 36. He is remembered by his family and friends as the GREAT guy he was. He is survived by his mother (Bea) and three brothers (Gary, Tim, & Larry).

Eberle, Eric Dale Born Feb 10, 1953 in Dallas, Eric was the second of five children to Alfred and Maxine Eberle. He graduated from Carter High in 1971, attended North Texas State University, UT Arlington and DeVry. He is preceded in death by his brother Alfred Eberle Jr. Survivors include his parents, two brothers, Mark Eberle of Irving TX, Paul Eberle of Winter Haven FL., sister Gale Eberle Patterson and her husband Mike of Highland Village TX. He is adored by nieces and nephews Keith and Allie Patterson, Sarah and Cassie Eberle and their mother Jeannette Allbritton Eberle. Eric will be remembered for his talented art work, quite demeanor and gentle smile. Services will be held Sat Jan 10, at Noon at Laurel Land. Family will welcome visitors Fri Jan 9 from 6-8pm at Laurel Land.

He is survived by his wife Marilyn, sons Robert, Jr., Ryan, step-sons, Mike Willis & David Bowers Jr., daughters Tonya and Sarah and 3 grandchildren. Robert is also survived by his father Everett and mother Helen Goolsby, brother James and sister Patricia and mother-in-law, Mary Donnelly. Visitation will be Thursday 4-7 pm and the Funeral Service will be 2 pm Friday, Nov. 7, 2003 at Jeter & Son Chapel.

WINONA - Graveside services for Paula Jo Haney, 57, Winona, are scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday in Harris Creek Cemetery under direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors of Lindale.

Mrs. Haney died Jan. 27, 2011.  She was born May 13, 1953, in Dallas and had lived in Winona since 1981.

IBSEN JEFFREY JOHN, 49, passed away March 29, 2001 in Dallas. Born December 4, 1951 in Chicago, IL. to Nels Bagger Ibsen and Alma Nolan Ibsen. He grew up in a military Army Air Force Exchange Service family. He lived in Chicago, New Jersey, Germany, and Dallas. Jeff was a graduate of David W. Carter High School in Dallas and received a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from T. C. U. in Ft. Worth. Immediately after graduation he began a career with AAFES. He rose from a college trainee to Sr. Vice President, following in his fathers footsteps. He served in many locations around the globe, proudly serving military families. While serving in Okinawa he met and married Ruriko Otsuka. They have made their home in Dallas since 1997. Survivors include, his wife, Ruriko; brother, Nels Thomas Ibsen; sisters; Nelia Schrum and Brenda Alonso; mother, Alma Nolan Ibsen; step mother, Julia Ibsen; three nieces and two nephews. Jeff's family will receive friends at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, April 1, 2001. Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday April 2, 2001 at St. Monica Catholic Church, Midway Road and Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas. Rev. Jonathan Austin, Celebrant.

GRAHAM, , DIANE KAY McLINE Sept 13th, 1953 - Sept 7th, 2007 Diane Graham, known to her friends as "Lady Di," passed away Friday, September 7, 2007. She died peacefully and comfortably in her Highland Village home during the early morning, known to be her favorite time of the day. Diane was loved by many. She was a wonderful mother and friend who touched so many lives with her love, her compassion and her beautiful spirit. As a 5th generation Texan and a Children's Medical Center RN for over twenty years, she was kind, compassionate, honest, and loyal. She was considered to be an "angel on earth" that provided love and comfort for many children & their families, and those who were lucky to know her. Her memory will be carried on by her daughter, Stephanie Graham, and by her close circle of friends whom she considered her true family. A Memorial Service will be held Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at 2:00PM at the Village Church at 1700 Highland Village Road. Thomas "Tommy" Eugene Thurmond

Thomas "Tommy" Eugene ThurmondAge 56 of Garland, TX, passed away suddenly on Sept 20, 2009 after suffering a stroke. Tommy was born in Dallas, TX on Mar 5, 1953 to Ben F. and Floy Thurmond, who preceded him in death. He was loved and will be missed by his wife of 15 years, Donna; son David Jeffrey, his wife Tracy and new granddaughter Maisy Belle of Melbourne, Australia; brother Ben and his wife, Lori; brother Don and his wife Marge; sister Maxine Shannon; nieces, nephews, brothers in law, sisters in law and cousins who will all miss him dearly. Tommy was a printer by trade and has worked for ABCO Printing for the last three years. He was a passionate NASCAR fan and a season ticket holder at Texas Motor Speedway. Prior to his death, he had successfully recruited a number of family members to joining the world of stock car racing and sharing his love of the smell of a wreck in turn 1 or 4 - a legacy that will live on with generations cheering for the Nos. 18, 29, 14 and 88. Tommy was able to help 4 people live longer lives by donating his kidneys, liver and lungs. A Memorial Service will be held at South Garland Baptist Church, 1330 East Centerville Rd, Garland, TX at 11:00am on Friday, Sept. 25, 2009

KIMMICK LT. COL. LEONARD, JR., USA-RET. of Lancaster, TX. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on June 7, 1926. Passed away in Dallas, Texas on June 14, 2001. Served in the U.S. Army from 1945 until his retirement in 1967. Received the Bronze Star Medal, Air Medal with First and Second Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal and numerous other medals and citations. After retirement from the U. S. Army, he became the ROTC Commandant at David W. Carter High School in Dallas, TX. The "Colonel" marched the halls of CHS until his retirement in 1988. Leonard was a part time history instructor at Cedar Valley College since the doors opened in 1977, and had spent four semesters at Eastfield prior to 1977. He was honored with the "Excellence in Teaching Award" in 1990. Received BS from University of Nebraska at Omaha and MA from Southern Methodist University. Life member TROA and member of GDROA. Member of the First United Methodist Church of Lancaster. Leonard is survived by wife, Marcella Kimmick; daughter, Karen Morse of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Anne Kimmick of Denver, CO; son-in-law, Norman Martin; three granddaughters, Amanda Wallace, Meagan Martin and Kathryn Kimmick; four grandsons, Jacob Harris, Matthew Martin, Kyle Kimmick and Keenan Kimmick; one great grandson, Shane Moore. Preceded in death by daughter, Florence Lynn Martin; parents, Leonard and Florence Kimmick; and son-in-law, Joseph "Buck" Morse. Family will receive friends from 5-7 Sunday evening at funeral home. Harold Lichtenwald, a Dallas teacher, principal and administrator for more than 30 years, died Wednesday of complications from Parkinson's disease and diabetes at Brentwood Nursing Home in Dallas. He was 80.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Colonial Baptist Church, 6459 Scyene Road in Dallas. Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd. in Dallas.

In addition to his years in public schools, Mr. Lichtenwald was also music director for Baptist churches in Denton, Grapevine, Dallas, Garland and Healdton, Okla. In Dallas, Mr. Lichtenwald was music director for Colonial Baptist Church three different times over 10 years and at Ridgecrest Baptist Church twice for a total of five years.

Whether he was in school or in church, Mr. Lichtenwald tried to make a difference, said his daughter Mary Lee Kjorvestad of Playa Hermosa, Costa Rica.

"If he took you under his wing, you'd be soaring very soon," she said. "... He didn't just help people. He taught them to change their lives."

Born in Longmont, Colo., Mr. Lichtenwald grew up in Muscatine, Iowa, where he graduated from high school in 1940.

After serving in the Army's Cactus Division in France and Germany during World War II, he moved to Texas, where he had been stationed.

He attended Oklahoma Baptist University and received bachelor's and master's degrees in music education from North Texas State College, now the University of North Texas.

He taught in Grapevine and Kermit, Texas, for three years before joining the Dallas Independent School District in 1954.

In 1957 he was named principal of Robert E. Lee Elementary and held the same position at Sidney Lanier Elementary, Sarah Zumwalt Junior High and W.H. Atwell Junior High.

In 1966 he was the first principal at David W. Carter High School. In 1972 he became the district's director of special education. He retired in 1981 but worked as a DISD consultant from 1983 to 1986.

In addition to his daughter, Mr. Lichtenwald is survived by his wife, Cleva Lichtenwald of Dallas; another daughter, Melinda Roberson of Beaumont; sisters Esther Pulliam of Muscatine, Helen Cline of Greenville, Ruth Sullivan of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and Betty Johnson of Letts, Iowa; and three grandchildren.

MOUNT GEORGE E. Born December 10, 1916 in Saratoga, Texas and passed away October 26, 2001 in Dallas. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Nadine Mount; sons: George R. Mount and wife, Priscilla; Jimmy Mount and wife, Lynda; Lester Mount and wife, Pamela; Ralph Mount; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. George was a WW II veteran serving in the 144th Infantry; and was wounded during campaigns in the Asiatic-Pacific Theater of Operations earning the Bronze Star and Purple Heart Medals. He retired as a Math Teacher serving David Carter High School and the Dallas Independent School District from 1957 to 1979. George was a member of Disabled American Veterans organization where he was a Past Commander and Past District II Commander. He was a Holy Master in the Oak Cliff Masonic Lodge, and a dedicated volunteer with the VA Hospital. Services will be 2:00 PM, Monday, October 29, 2001 at LAUREL LAND MEMORIAL CHAPEL, interment at Laurel Land Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4-6 PM, Sunday at the funeral home. Lloyd White, Jr., 83 of Dallas passed away Friday, January 1, 2010, in Mesquite, Texas. Lloyd was born on May 4, 1926, in Godley, Texas to Lloyd and Iva Mae White, Sr. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Marian (Pat) Bray on August 22, 1947 in Dallas, Texas. Lloyd was a member of Highland Oaks Church of Christ of Dallas and served as Minister of Education for several years. He was also a member of the Dallas VFW Post #6796 and was also a member of Elks Lodge #71. Honorary Member of the Disabled American Veterans, Honorary Member of the Texas 36th Infantry Division, Texas 36th Foundation Board Member, Sons of the Republic of Texas and a member of Dallas County Pioneers. He was a dedicated member of the Dal-Tech Alumni Association, served on the Dallas Park and Recreation Board for 2 years and was Committee Chairman and helped build the Veterans Memorial Garden in Downtown Dallas. He later built 5 Monuments there. He retired from the Dallas Independent School District and was a member of the Dallas ISD Administrator Alumni and also Retired teacher Association and the Retired Principals Association. He taught at Forest Ave High School in Dallas and was an Alumni Association Member. He also taught at John B. Hood Junior High, was Assistant Principal at David W. Carter High School and Principal at Kleberg Elementary, as well as other Administrative services. Lloyd is preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and Iva White Sr. and his sister Marceline Burns , her husband Chuck and her son Billy Gene Wallace.. Survivors include his wife, of 62 years, Marian (Pat), 1 son, Lloyd Michael White and wife Becki, 1 daughter, Kathi Lynn White. 3 Grandchildren, Jessica A. White and husband Brian Arneson, Travis Wesley Lloyd and wife Karen W. White and Jeffrey Ray Fendley. One brother-in-law Philip Michael Bray and his daughter, and one sister-in-law Carol Bray Sutton, her three sons and their families, his sister Marceline's three children and their families. Two aunts, Christine Gage and Chris Sherman, four first cousins: Sid and Wanda White, Alan and Patricia Gage, Bill and Sandra Gage Underhill, Darwin Sherman and their families. Graveside Service will be conducted at Dallas/Ft.Worth National Cemetery on Friday January 15, 2010 at 10:00 AM. A Celebration Service will be held at 12:00 P.M. at Highland Oaks Church of Christ in Dallas on Friday January 15, 2010 with John Losher and Ed Davis officiating. Honorary pallbearer will be Bobby Dale Wolcott.
